The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program, established in the year 2000 and affiliated with Bengaluru City University, is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills in computer applications and information technology. With an intake of 160 students, the department boasts highly qualified and experienced faculty who focus on providing quality education and preparing students for the challenges of the ever-evolving IT industry. The curriculum covers programming languages, software development, database management, computer networks, and digital electronics, among other subjects.
The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art computer labs, a microprocessor lab, a digital electronics lab, and a department library. It also offers classrooms with ICT facilities, Wi-Fi, and internet access to enhance learning. Additionally, the department runs an IT club called Emanation, where students actively engage in various computer-related activities, promoting teamwork and personality development.
To supplement academics, the department organizes workshops, certificate programs, industrial visits, and recreational trips to keep students up-to-date with the latest trends and practices in the field. Guest lectures and seminars by industry experts further enrich the students’ knowledge and understanding of the IT sector.
